I just realized I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy – shame on me!!

I had my baby shower this past weekend and it finally hit me... I'm going to be a mom of two. My dream was to always be a mother and now that I am, sometimes I can't help but just be amazed at how I became a mom with what I went through with my first pregnancy.

Today, I'm 37 weeks pregnant and ready to pop this baby out!!! Lol. I'll be honest, I couldn't enjoy this pregnancy as much as I did with my first because it was just so different!

I was sick my entire first trimester. My second trimester was so painful with sciatic pains that wouldn't go away and wouldn't let me walk up right. I waddled more than ever because of the pain which I didn't do with my first. And my third trimester was just a hassle. The sciatic pain continues, I'm running after a toddler all the time, we're in the process of moving and I don't ever sleep anymore. I didn't think at all that it would be like this the second time around. But I will say this, feeling my little girl move each time brought my husband and I pure joyment. Mali loves the fact that she can kiss my belly. And I love the fact that every morning she wakes up and asks for "sister" and comes to greet her with a belly rub and kiss right on the belly button.

It's truly been an interesting experience this pregnancy. But I'm grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to carry my second baby girl.

Here are some fun facts about my pregnancy so far!

  • Weight gain: 8lbs as of last week!
  • Food cravings: Pupusas, mom's pancakes, garlic dipping sauce from Venezuela.
  • Stretch marks: No new ones really. My old ones are just more noticeable and maybe one or two have darkened. Thank goodness!!
  • Maternity clothes: I didn't waste any money on maternity clothes this time around. I just held my pants up with hair bands, used dresses and leggings, and used my husband's clothes while at home.
  • Mood swings: I can't really answer that, lol. To me, I didn't have any. But ask my mother and my husband and they'll have something completely different to say, haha!!
  • Work or Sahm: I worked most of my pregnancy. Actually, I had just started a great new job when I found out I was pregnant a month later. I worked until March. I finally couldn't take the back pains and exhaustion, so my husband and I decided it was time for me to stay home.
I'm 1 cm dilated as of Monday, so wish me luck. Baby girl can be here any day now!

Are you a mommy of two? How did your second time around differ from when you were pregnant with your first?
